We have designed Transit to be a more relaxing drive. The combination of impressive driving dynamics and added interior comfort has ensured that daily driving is far less tiring and stressful.
This is ergonomically designed to fall naturally to hand and offer a smoother, more car-like, gear shift. The facia mounted gearshift also gives a completely clear floor area, allowing passenger and driver unrestricted cross-cab access.
Whatever the weather conditions, you can travel in comfort. When it’s hot outside you’ll appreciate the enhanced cooling performance of the optional air conditioning.
The dash-mounted tachograph helps you to manage your business easily. It records driving and rest times, speeds, distance travelled and any faults that might have occurred, then stores this information for 365 days (optional extra).
All Transits can be optionally equipped with advanced, easy-to-operate, satellite navigation that makes journeys swifter and easy to make, wherever they may be.
Rear-wheel-drive (RWD) models are equipped with twin batteries. This arrangement allows the second battery to power whatever accessory is needed when the engine is switched off, leaving the primary battery in a high state of charge for dependable start and run operation. And, if you forget to turn the lights off, a battery saver function automatically cancels all lights left on when the vehicle is locked.
The lighting technology in the Transit Chassis Cab has been designed to make night-time driving easier, safer and more comfortable. We have designed the headlights to provide maximum light in all conditions – the large lens can also incorporate an optional fog light to help make driving easier when visibility is reduced. Also, if fitted with the optional auto-headlights, they will turn on when the sensors detect a reduction in daylight conditions, which means you won’t need to turn them on at dusk, at night, or when going through a tunnel.
To make light work of cleaning the windscreen, we’ve added a step in the bumper. These bumpers have also been designed in three pieces so they are easier and less costly to replace – should they ever get knocked.
