Sports activity vehicle (SAV)

S-Max has one bodystyle – a spacious 5-door SAV with a sweeping panorama roof (optional). It combines the aerodynamic look and handling of a sports car with the versatility of an SUV or MPV. For an activity-orientated family, it’s the perfect all-rounder.

Thule roof box, carries a wide variety of loads to protect them from weather and theft
Roof rails, the handy base for all the attachments (accessory)
Various luggage compartment mats, made in robust rubber or reversible carpet/rubber
Detachable tow bar – can be fitted or removed with one swift, easy movement
Activity Kit – a series of aluminium bars and special attachments fit in the rear, so bulky items such as bikes and skis can be securely locked in place
Waeco coolbox – this high-performance 35-litre capacity box cools down to 30° below the ambient temperature, to a minimum of 1°C. Integrated 230V AC connector
Reversible luggage compartment mats – robust rubber/carpet mats that protect the paintwork and your luggage

Ford Fold Flat System (FFS)

You could be a DIY enthusiast, or your daughter’s mountain bike could need picking up, or maybe you’ve been nominated as roadie for your son’s band. Whatever you and your family need to carry, S-MAX is flexible enough to cope. FFS means each rear seat folds down flush with the floor, plus the second row seats can also slide and tilt. In total, there are an astonishing 32 possible seating combinations.

Flexible interior

Whether you need your car for work, leisure or for family trips, the versatile S-MAX has plenty to offer. The third row seats can easily accommodate two adults, providing ample room for up to seven adults. Plus, the Ford Fold Flat System (FFS) means the second and third row seats can quickly fold completely flat without having to be removed. There is also an optional sliding load floor, integrated into the load area behind the rear seats. This allows up to 120 kg on the rear edge, when extended out of the vehicle, and takes up to 200 kg when slid back inside. And in 5-seat mode, with stowage accessories such as the Activity Kit, you can transport mountain bikes and other kit inside, rather than on an external roof rack. With S-MAX, you have the flexibility to choose the most appropriate configuration for your passengers and luggage.
