Enter Mondeo’s cockpit, and you will notice an interior where precision craftsmanship, carefully chosen materials, colours and trims all work together harmoniously. The effect is effortlessly stylish.
Whenever the headlights are on, a soft, amber glow illuminates the centre console area around the gearshift (Ghia, Titanium S and X). There is also the added convenience of having the way to your front door clearly lit at night, as the Home Safe headlights and optional puddle lights stay on for a few extra seconds as you walk away from your car (puddle lights are standard on Ghia, Titanium S and X).
Security-encrypted sensors automatically ready the engine when they detect the key’s unique code. Simply press the clutch on the manual version, or the brake on the automatic, and push the ‘FordPower’ Starter Button to start your car (standard on Titanium S and X, optional on Zetec and Ghia).
What if you feel the cold, but your passengers don’t? You and your front seat passenger can set the temperature with up to 4° variation between you. Your rear seat passengers also have adjustable vents to keep them comfortable on the pillars between the front and back seats (optional on LX, standard on all other series).
If you, or a member of your family suffer from allergies you’ll be relieved to know that we have fitted an integrated pollen filter. All the materials we use inside Mondeo have been fully tested to minimise allergy risk. They meet the stringent anti-allergy requirements of the TÜV TOXPROOF Criteria Catalogue for Vehicle Interiors, a renowned independent German quality standard. They also have the ‘seal of approval’ from the British Allergy Foundation and the Asthma Society of Ireland.
Mondeo’s luxurious interior is enhanced by great attention to detail, with colours, trims, soft-touch materials or sumptuous leather, all working together in harmony. Standard features on all models include a leather steering wheel and leather gearshift knob, excluding LX, and a comfortable leather handbrake grip is also available on Ghia and Titanium models.
For added convenience you could upgrade the 2-way power adjustment to an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, plus a memory function that remembers up to four seat and exterior mirror settings. You can even have 8-way power-adjustment for the front passenger seat on Ghia.
The safety of children on the move is paramount. Available as an accessory, the specially-designed Britax Römer child seat can be secured with an ISOFIX system on the rear outer seats. A similar version for children up to 18 months old is also available (accessory).
There’s a range of contemporary colours to choose from, available in soft touch fabric and supple leather. They complement the stylish flourishes in Mondeo perfectly.
This intuitive digital command centre helps you stay in complete control of many of the car’s systems. Featuring a standard, enhanced or Ford Convers+ cluster display, the HMI is operated by two steering wheel-mounted toggles for audio and vehicle settings. With the left toggle you can find and change radio stations or CD tracks, as well as set the volume. The right toggle switch controls the cluster display for vehicle settings and the trip computer. On the Ford Convers+ cluster display, the right toggle lets you scroll through MultiMedia lists, controlling the phone, radio, and CD player.
Using this socket you can plug in a USB device or MP3 player and listen to your favourite music. And if using Ford Converse+ all tracks will be displayed on the colour TFT (Thin Film Transistor) cluster display, so you can easily select what to play using the audio head unit.
